What Is Chinese Medicine

Chinese Medicine is:

*An organic, holistic, integrative medicine based on the observation of  Nature’s Ways.

*It grounds us and reminds us of our humanity through it’s diagnostic approach and treatment strategies, reinforcing the reality of the human condition: that we are nature and not separate from it, nor are we in control of nature, yet we can have a profound effect upon nature, our own and the environment around us.

*Acupuncture literally stimulates our body’s inherent healing capacity. The experience of  acupuncture, herbology, food therapy, or tai chi & qi gong, connects us to and reinforces the actual paradigm of healing as nature designed: gradual pattern oriented growth slowly changing over time, usually through repetition, patience, consistency.

*Chinese Medicine treats the patient not the disease contrasted with western allopathic medicine which is primarily disease driven & symptom oriented. Acupuncture and herbal medicine treatment strategies address both the root and the branch of disharmony and disease, per each individual patient, as each person is unique – the map is not the territory.

*Through the stimulation and cultivation of health, doctor and patient work together to optimize the patient’s condition, focusing on balance, function, prevention and intervention.

*Practitioner and patient examine pathology and disharmony together, cultivating health via responsibility.

*Observing nature’s ways revealed that the human condition is a mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical condition – and journey! These aspects of us are best viewed and treated in their natural state: co-occurring aspects of the same phenomena. We are a microcosm of nature and therefore are subject to the same ecological conditions and stresses.

*Chinese Medicine reflects microcosmic/macrocosmic dynamics: patterns & relationships of organ networks determine functionality of the body and psyche.

*Treatment presents modern westerners with what is actually missing in their lives: a dynamic of a meditative quality, requiring reflection upon one’s state in time and space.

*Energy is the root of the universe as verified in quantum physics – human beings are microcosmic universes unto themselves, with energy at the core of pathology and disease. Treatment via the organ networks and energetic meridians averts disease.
